Paris Trip 2023

A group of year 9 and 10 students were thrilled to be participating in the joint Modern Foreign Languages and History trip which visited Paris. Throughout the trip students saw iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral.  Students enjoyed visiting The Louvre with one exclaiming, “I can’t believe we just saw the actual Mona Lisa!” Other key highlights included a boat ride along the River Seine and a visit to Monmarte for views of the city from the Sacré Coeur.

On the final day, students visited the Thiepval Memorial and were able to watch a ceremony remembering those fallen in the Battle of the Somme in the First World War. Students then visited Newfoundland Park and Vimy Ridge and walked through the battlefields where Canadian soldiers fought in the war. One student said, “I can’t believe we got to walk through where an actual trench was in the war!”

Students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and look forward to more in the future.
