Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
BackOn Tuesday 11th June, thirteen Year 10 pupils went to Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre to watch the GB men’s and women’s hockey teams play in the FIH Pro League London 2024. Prior to the games, pupils got to participate in various hockey events including competing against each other in a 5v5 mini hockey game and a hockey shoot out. As well as meeting Jasper & Jess, the GB lion and lioness mascots. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed watching the GB men's team beat Spain 2-1. Followed by a thrilling game for GB women's team with the match ending in a 3 - 3 draw against China with GB going on to secure the victory, scoring 2 goals in the penalty shootout to China's 1. After both matches, pupils got to say hello to GB players pitch side where they were able to get autographs and take selfies with the team. The students all enjoyed the atmosphere and fantastic athleticism on display.
