Sports Leaders - Aquatic Centre Panathlon

On Wednesday 24^th January, 15 Year 9 Sports Leaders went to the Olympic Aquatic Swimming Centre in Stratford and hosted a SEND Swimming Panathlon Event. There were leaders inside and outside of the pool, providing strong guidance, encouragement and feedback to the primary students throughout the whole event. They represented the school to an excellent standard and the PE department want to give the students a massive well done and thank you! 

As an added bonus they were also able to watch the GB divers train, witnessing the high level of skill that they possessed and gained a new found appreciation for elite level athletes.

The Sports Leaders performed so well, that we have had several feedback regarding their skills. Please see the lovely feedback received: 

"The pupils that were with us yesterday, supporting our children with SEND, at the swimming gala were an absolute credit to the school. They were calm, kind and patient. They used humour and encouragement so well, a skill many adults struggle with. To find out that this was their first time running an event was more than impressive."
