Cricket Tournament Against Brampton Manor
BackVenue - Leyton Urban Hub
Loxford school were the first team to play in the inter-school indoor cricket tournament against Brampton Manor. Loxford elected to bowl first and started fantastically, making it very hard for the other team to score many runs. With a flourish of wickets and some top fielding, we were able to restrict the opposing side to 54 runs. It was Loxfords time to bat and we started steadily. Brampton Manor were very disciplined with their bowling and fielding. Unfortunately, we were unable to surpass their total and lost by 8 runs.
Loxford had their second game against Greatfields school. Loxford lost the toss and Greatfields elected to bat. Again, we showed a great attitude when fielding, all the students were encouraging each over and we were limiting the opposition to very few runs. Greafields finished on 54 and it was Loxford's turn to bat. Loxford started slow, losing a few wickets and scoring few runs. Loxford had 24 needed in the last two overs, which looked unlikely, however Loxford did not give up hope. The final over required 12 runs off 8 balls and Loxford finished the game in style with a 6!
Many thanks go to Essex cricket for organising these events, allowing our students to showcase their talent and play cricket!
