Year 1 Valentines Park

Year 1 went to Valentines Park on their trip. When they were there, they used their scientific knowledge to identify different breeds of bird, including the moor hen, Egyptian goose and mallard duck. Next, the children had an opportunity to apply their knowledge from our Science topic about plants by identifying trees using their leaves. They spoke enthusiastically about the different shapes and sizes of leaves; even discussing the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees.

The trip gave them the opportunity to use their road safety skills that they have learnt about in PSHE lessons. The children behaved in an outstanding manner, acting as excellent representatives for the school.
