Year 11 Drama Trip: The Mousetrap at St. Martin's Theatre in London's West End
BackOn Tuesday 5th November, fifteen students from our Year 11 GCSE Drama class went to the famous St. Martin's Theatre in London's West End to watch The Mousetrap.
The performance featured an interesting plot that became a murder mystery, where the students were quick to try to guess who had committed the crimes out of the characters in the play. The performance included incredible actors and actresses who really showed how their level of performance and characterisation was something the students could aspire to for their GCSE performances. The Mousetrap was a live performance that the Year 11 students will have to talk about in great detail for their GCSE written paper exam and watching it live really meant they could see and understand the refined performance techniques and design elements they will be asked to explain in great detail.
The students were able to experience watching world class actors and actresses and be inspired by their hard work, creativity and impressive performance skills. The students were well-behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the performance and guessing which character in the performance was lying. The students expressed that they enjoyed some of the comedy, especially one of the childish characters who was very expressive. The ending of the performance shocked many of us, which we all seemed to enjoy.
Overall, the day was one that we will all remember quite fondly. Thank you Year 11s!
