Year 11 Music Trip: Keyboard Open Day at the Guildhall School of Music
Back15th October, 2024
On Tuesday 15th October, eleven students from our Year 11 GCSE music class went to the famous Guildhall School of Music for their keyboard open day. The day featured a tour of some of their music facilities, lectures lead by music professional and professors, watching a typical piano lesson at that school and being the audience for a lunchtime showcase. The showcase included incredible pianists and vocalists who really showed how Guildhall School is something the students could aspire to be apart of in their future if they wish.
The students were able to experience watching world class pianists and be inspired by their hard work, creativity and impressive musical skills. The students were impeccably behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the piano lesson and showcase performance. The students expressed that their favourite part was watching the piano lesson as the student was playing pieces of music that are renowned for being challenging by famous pianist Chopin and the student played it so well. The expressive and passionate teacher who sung his way through the lesson seemed to really inspire these students too!
Overall, the day was one that we will all remember quite fondly. Thank you Year 11s!
