virtual Geobus UCL workshop

February 28th 2024

On Tuesday 27th February, during their Science lesson, Year 9 students took part in an exciting virtual Geobus UCL workshop on the Arctic, Sea Ice and Climate change.

GeoBus UCL is an Earth science outreach programme run by the Earth Sciences Department in UCL.

Students thoroughly enjoyed wearing 3D glasses to explore sterographic images of the environment around us.

They discovered and learnt more about the difference between climate and weather, what the conditions in the Arctic are like and the impacts of climate change.

This was an excellent transition activity which recapped prior knowledge learnt by students in Year 8 (Earth- global warming and climate change) and also links to what students will be learning in Year 10 (Chemistry of the atmosphere and global warming).Image0
