Year 7 Indoor Essex Cricket Festival - at Mayfield School

The game started with Loxford bowling against Mayfield school. Mayfield started well with a flourish of runs, including a few fours and some good running between the wickets. Loxford brought some pressure in the middle overs with some wickets and good fielding. Mayfield finished their innings on 84 runs. It was Loxford's turn to bat. Mayfield bowled and fielded very well and despite some last minute fours and sixes by our last few batters, Mayfield managed to win the game by 30 runs.

Our second game was against St Martins school and this time Loxford elected to bat first. Loxford started very well, running between the wickets, as well as scoring a few fours and sixes. However, St Martins managed to take a few wickets and left Loxford with a respectable total of 54. It was St.Martins turn to bat and they started very well, scoring quick runs at the start of their innings. Loxford did manage to get some wickets by catching out the opposition, however it was not to be Loxford's day as they lost by 25 runs.

It was great to see the students represent the school so well, with great team spirit. All of the schools showed superb sportsmanship and we look forward to giving our students further opportunities like this one!
