Y1 Barking Park Walk

In Year 1 we have been learning about human and physical features in geography. We have also been using directional language to navigate from one point to another. We used our very own map to walk from the school to Barking Park, and explore the human and physical features there by sorting them into groups. The children had a great time identifying different types of trees by the shape and texture of the leaves, linking back to our science topic on common plants. Later, we worked in teams to create nature crowns using natural materials around us, and even played a competitive game of rounders as a class. Well done, Year 1!
