Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Display in the Edible garden
Back
To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, staff and selected students in year 9 created a floral display to commemorate the event.
Work took place in the school’s Edible garden where a section was earmarked for the students to come up with a design idea that would be befitting to mark a once in a lifetime occasion. In keeping with the colour scheme of the Jubilee, students and staff planted purple vegetables; grew and made purple flowers which when synthesised together created an eye popping tribute
The year 9 students very much wanted to create an exhibition that mirrored not only their views on ecology but also Her Majesty’s belief on creating a sustainable environment that would work for future generations. It is hoped that even when the celebrations are over, the Jubilee section will continue to evolve and provide a home for wildlife and an opportunity to develop future conscious climate leaders.
