Loxford in the month of March
BackWithin the month of March our students took part in the following activities:-
- Year 9 & 10 took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge and we won 21 bronze, 5 silver and 1 gold. This Challenge involves mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency using basic mathematical techniques
- Thursday 3rd March was World Book Day and staff members of the English Department dressed up as various characters from books
- International Women’s Day 8th March
- 11th-20th March was Science Week and various activities were held
- International Pi Day 14th March. Our International Pi Day Champion is Milan Sharma 7L who memorised 300 decimal digits of Pi
- On 17th March we held our Futures Evening “Dare to Dream”. This event provided students in Years 11-13 with information regarding different opportunities that are available to them in the next stage of their life. Various presenters came in from prestigious organisations and universities
- Year 11 and Year 13 started their mock exams
- Year 9 experienced Taster Lessons for when they will be in Year 10
- Year 12 Parents’ Evening
- The Global Ambassadors collected donations for UK Fundraising for Ukraine
- Members of the Army came in to deliver workshops to students
- Autism Awareness Week – theme “Dare to be Different”
We visited the following places:-
- A group of students watched the London Lions basketball game at The Copper Box
Loxford took part in many sporting fixtures:-
- Year 10 boys football lost to Woodbridge 3-6 (Loxford only had 10 players)
