Music Lesson Offering

Dear Parent/Carer,

I'm delighted to announce that we are planning to offer instrumental and vocal lessons to pupils at Loxford School from September. We will be working in partnership with specialist teachers from Redbridge Music Service (RMS) to deliver these lessons to pupils during the school day, throughout term time.

The first step is to understand how many pupils would like to learn. We will be offering the following instruments:

• Brass: trumpet, cornet, French horn, tenor horn, Trombone, Euphonium, tuba
• Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
• Percussion: Drum kit, orchestral percussion, Indian drumming
• Guitar: Classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele
• Piano, keyboard
• Woodwind: recorder, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, bassoon
• Voice/singing

Lesson lengths and prices are as follows:



The fees above are payable every month of the year (including holidays) as RMS spreads the annual cost over twelve months to keep each payment as low as possible. RMS teaches throughout the school year and guarantees at least 35 lessons per year.

Instrument hire: RMS provides a subsidised instrument hire scheme. It costs £7.99 per month to hire an instrument (Please note this is not available for piano/keyboard/drum kit).

We do hope your child may be interested in learning to play a musical instrument - a skill they will have for life and that will open up many opportunities for them in the future.
